Website

One of the world's most beautiful buildings, the exterior plaza and light show are completely free.

The Museum of the Future is widely considered one of the most beautiful buildings on earth - a torus-shaped structure clad in stainless-steel Arabic calligraphy panels with an elliptical void at its centre through which the sky appears. The exterior and surrounding public plaza on Sheikh Zayed Road are completely free to enjoy at any hour. The building's illuminated calligraphy after dark is spectacular, and the best viewing point is the Emirates Towers metro station exit, which places it directly in front of you at full scale. The golden Arabic script covering the building is composed of quotes by Sheikh Mohammed about the future; the building famously has no conventional windows - the script is the windows. Interior exhibitions require a ticket (AED 149+) and should be booked weeks in advance online. The exterior experience alone is worth making a dedicated visit. Come after 8pm when the calligraphy is fully lit against the Sheikh Zayed Road skyline.

The exterior viewing and plaza around the Museum of the Future is free to visit at any time. The building's iconic form — a torus shape covered in Arabic calligraphy — is one of the most photographed sights in Dubai and spectacular to see in person.
02What is written on the Museum of the Future?
The golden Arabic calligraphy covering the exterior is made up of quotes by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum about the future. The building has no windows — the script forms the windows. At night, the calligraphy is illuminated, making it even more dramatic.
03Is the Museum of the Future worth visiting inside?
Interior tickets (approximately AED 149–199) offer an immersive, highly designed experience focused on future technology, sustainability, and space. The exterior experience is free and outstanding; the interior is worth the extra investment for those interested in design and innovation.
04Where is the best spot to photograph the Museum of the Future?
The Emirates Towers metro station exit puts you directly in front of the building. The plaza in front is the best position. For a wider shot including the Sheikh Zayed Road skyline, cross to the opposite side of the road.
05When is the best time to see the Museum of the Future?
After dark, the calligraphy is lit up and the building is even more striking. Late evening (8–10pm) combined with the illuminated Sheikh Zayed Road makes for the most spectacular views. The golden hour before sunset is equally beautiful.
06How do I get to the Museum of the Future?
The Museum of the Future is on Sheikh Zayed Road, directly accessible from the Emirates Towers metro station. Taxis and ride-share apps also drop off at the entrance plaza. Parking is limited on the road itself.
