Scuba Dubai runs PADI-certified diving courses from pool discovery sessions through to full Open Water certification and beyond, with pool training followed by Gulf ocean dives from their boat operation. The Dubai Gulf sites offer surprisingly good visibility and interesting marine life - rays, reef fish and seasonal whale sharks - considering how urbanised the coastline appears from shore. Discovery Scuba sessions (try diving for first-timers, no certification needed) are a 3-hour programme including pool training and a supervised open water dive. The instructor team is patient and multilingual. An excellent activity for residents who've never considered diving before.
