Nusr-Et in DIFC is the original Dubai home of Salt Bae, the Turkish butcher turned global phenomenon whose theatrical meat-salting technique spawned a thousand imitations. The spectacle is part of the appeal: prime cuts presented with showmanship, an atmosphere pitched between steakhouse and social event, and a crowd that has come as much to be seen as to eat. The quality of the beef - imported and aged with care - is genuinely excellent when you get a table away from the chaos. Expect to spend significantly more than the menu prices suggest once service charges are added. The wagyu tomahawk and the gold-leaf-wrapped steak are the signature orders, though the offal cuts for carnivorous purists are equally worth attention. For a purely indulgent, theatrical night out where the food matches the theatre, it delivers.
