Ravi Restaurant in Satwa has been feeding Dubai since 1978 and has achieved a status that few restaurants anywhere in the world manage: it is simultaneously a beloved local institution, an expat pilgrimage destination and a genuinely excellent restaurant. The open-air plastic tables and ceiling fans are part of the charm. Order the daal, nihari, seekh kebab and karahi - and understand what honest Pakistani cooking, done brilliantly, can taste like.
