Mall of the Emirates earns its reputation as Dubai's most complete shopping destination - not the largest, but consistently the best-edited and most pleasant to navigate. The 630+ stores include the full Ski Dubai indoor ski slope, Harvey Nichols, the flagship VOX cinema complex, and a food and beverage selection that has improved significantly in recent years. The Ski Dubai viewing area in the mall is free and provides a genuinely surreal sight of skiers and snowboarders through a glass wall in a desert city. The mall operates more efficiently than Dubai Mall: the layout is more navigable, the parking is better managed, and the crowd tends to be slightly more purposeful. High Street and Al Barsha residents treat it as their everyday mall rather than a tourist destination, which gives it a more local energy on weekdays. The Harvey Nichols food hall on the upper level is worth a stop independently of any shopping intention. One of the more genuinely functional malls in a city that builds them at scale.
