Atlantis Aquaventure remains the gold standard of Dubai waterparks - 17 hectares of slides, rapids, wave pools and a 1.6km lazy river winding through the Palm's lush landscaping. The Leap of Faith drop slide delivers a near-vertical 9-metre plunge through a transparent tunnel into a shark-filled lagoon below (safely, obviously). Beyond the thrills, Aquaventure includes a private beach, calm family splash zones and enough food outlets to fuel a full day. The setting - palm trees, the Gulf glittering in the background, the Atlantis towers overhead - makes it one of the most photogenic days out in the city.
