Business Bay sits immediately south of Downtown Dubai, separated by the Dubai Water Canal, a rapidly maturing commercial and residential district that offers Downtown-adjacent living at noticeably lower prices. The area has a large working population, strong transport links and a growing restaurant and cafe scene. The canal walk, new bridges and waterfront developments have significantly improved the neighbourhood's liveability in recent years, and it is increasingly popular with young professionals priced out of Downtown.
