Al Maha's desert experience operates inside the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve - one of the few places in the UAE where you might spot endangered Arabian oryx roaming freely. The afternoon departure departs from the resort's Bedouin camp for dune bashing across 225 square kilometres of untouched red dunes, followed by a sundowner on a high dune ridge as the desert turns copper and violet. Camel rides, falconry displays and archery complete the program before a candlelit dinner under the stars. The conservation reserve setting means no other vehicles, no tourist convoys - just an impossibly quiet desert and a sky full of stars.
